Smile noisey rear brakes srt 6

Hey Everyone I Am New To F0rum. Lots Of Great Info. My Concern Is That When I Put My Car In Rev To Leave In The Morning, There Is A Noise From The Rear Wheels , Only Appears After Car Sets Over Night . I Looked At Rotors The Rears Are Not Smooth Like The Fronts . Have 18000 Miles On Car Still Under Warranty. What To Do!! If Anything.

Looks like it's time to get the rotors turned or replaced.

I never heard noise from my rear brakes until I let my son drive the car last night (me as passenger). I could hear a slight grinding just as we came to a stop.
Guess what I'll be looking at this weekend!

It might also be your e-brake popping free. It may be sticking while sitting overnight. Just something else to look at while your back there.

I've noticed my XFs and Audi will develop a little rust on the rotors overnight when parked wet. The grinding could just be the rust being scraped off. If it continues, I'd say you have a bigger problem -- possibly warped rotors. Warped rotors often pulse as well.

My rears creak when they are cold, they are due to be reworked. The fronts squeak sometimes, but not too much. I am just going to put some new slotted/drilled rotors and disc italia pads on. Take care of that real quick

I agree with Goldwing, probably just surface rust burnin off. If it is constant you have a problem that probably needs immediate attention !

Took my srt to my brake guy. Brakes only made noise first roll out in morning. He said after brakes set over night moisture makes the pads swell. HE said this was very common with the harder pads that come on many autos today.

I had a rear caliper dragging on my SRT (8K miles) - took it to the dealer (under warranty) and had it replaced. I noticed it because of increased brake pad dust on one rear wheel. Ironically, the new caliper was silver (the other 3 black), so I ended up painting all the calipers.....I do not remember any associated noise with it - just dust.
