Question spare tire??

I bought my crossfire right after the dealer added chrome 19's. I tried to get one of the original wheels, but they were already gone. What kind and size wheel/tire combo, would be very affordable option? Just like of having a spare atleast in the garage. Thanks, chris

I've been wondering that also. I'm thinking a stock 18 with some cheap, ebay, rubber. An 18 would fit all the way around and could at least get me home if I wasn't too far away. And I haven't read of anyone actually finding and trying the Mercedes donut. Anyone??

let me ask this a different way. What would be the smallest recommended wheel size. I think the door sticker says to use atleast a 225/35/18 tire. So should I look at 18x8.5 wheels, and that tire size. I need to put some wider rubber on the front, the dealer put 215/35/19's on the front, and the curb protector is atleast 1/4" inside the face of the wheel. What bolt pattern are our wheels? Or should I just go to tire rack. Thanks, chris

Do a search on e-bay for M-B SLK donut spare tire. I found one last fall from a salvage yard in Calif. It was off an 02 SLK & never used yet. Paid about $110.00 plus frt. Put air into it to make sure it expanded & was a good height fit to my X-fire dia. tires, sent away (again to an e-bay ad) for a tire cover. This lil donut spare fits very neatly in our trunk. I have it standing up since my spare box of trunk items I carry keeps it propped in place. It is so small that it doesn't even show above the top of the divider to the trunk. You could also lay it down on the floor if you want with much room for storage left. The way I carry mine I still have room for two small overnight suit cases. Good luck

yeah my trunk is over half full of speaker box. I just want to be able to have a backup, that the wife can grab, and throw in the truck. I would hate to use the fix a flat on my 19's. Never thought about getting a donut off of ebay. Thanks, chris
