Default patched tire ?

so i recently got a set of michelin pilot sport all-season plus's for my car, and i must say they are great! However, I got a nail in my tired and had it patched. Will this affect the tire? Is it really good as new, like the tire guy said?

As long as it wasn't on the sidewall it will be fine, like new again..
Heck, I put a hole in my tire big enough to throw a cat through. It was right on the corner of the sidewall. I double plugged it. It did fine for another two months when I bought a new set. Sometimes when your broke you have to do some hillbilly engineering to get by.

just to clarify it was a roofing nail and was not on the sidewall. the tires are virutally brand new. the patch was done on the inside

Good as new. Don't worry about it.

I purchased a new car in May of 2000 and picked up a nail in one of the rear tires about 1500 miles later. I pulled into a nearby tire shop and they patched the tire from the inside in a matter of minutes and didn't even charge me for it! I've still never figured out why, other than the guys were having a very slow day and were super friendly - I just don't get that sort of luck!

Anyway................ never had a balance problem, never leaked air, never an issue of any kind. Got rid of the car 4 years later with just over 50,000 miles on it. And the original tires - including the one with the patch.

No, your car now has quadrilateral tire stigmatosis. By association with the patched tire, all 4 of your tires are now practically worthless. But, I think I may be able to help you out. If you remove all 4 tires from the vehicle, I will offer to pay you $200 (including shipping) for the complete set.

(I need to upgrade anyway. Driving on 6+ year old original PS2s with 20K miles and one of those tires sporting a plug from it's maiden voyage in 2004.)

Let me know!

Patching is definitely fine (best when the patch is on the inside/outside just to be sure). I've read a couple of threads on the Z06 forums of the stock RFT tires being patch 2-3 times and even being used on the track!
