I'd say eibach's and konis are a good start, and driving lessons/autocrossing to learn how the car really behaves. After driving my car for almost a year with that setup, I would never go back to stock... It makes the car feel much more planted and reduces body roll while giving you adjustability for different conditions. There are plenty of threads regarding this setup, search for eibach koni and you should get enough info.

All the money you throw at it will be a waste without suitable tires.
Re: How to make It HAndle
It's easier to learn the handling characteristics with crappy tires. With sticky tires you have so much grip that it takes longer to learn what works and what doesn't. Not to mention how much cheaper with normal tires. If I had a non SRT, I would get the springs and sways from a SRT and good adjustable shocks to start with. The school really should be first but we all know how the car bug works. With adjustable shocks you can get the push out of the front of the car. It will take some experimenting but it can be done.

Drivers Training....I laughed at that statement at first...but, if you aren't the kind of driver that uses this skill all the time, that might not be a bad idea. I take for granted every year for the past several years, we have to qualify at EVOC school. Emergency Vehicle Obstacle Course....we get to drive the dog poop out our patrol cars...lol...I have spent 38 yrs in and out of tractor trailers as well...so, literally all I do is drive...so, if you don't drive a lot, or don't drive hard a lot, the school thing isn't a bad idea...then you would know if it is the car or you that needs upgraded...

I need my car to handle the pavement a bit better. All mine does is spin the tires. It must be the car, so I am going to get bigger tires so I can spin those also.
Seriously, i need to learn to launch the SRT on the track and street. I had a run with a C6 vette with headers, from a dig (on barron side road in Mexico). He left and I spun, but I had over inflated my tires and it was 50 degrees on summer radials. I, however, can't find my sweet spot on the street.
Just curious if 285 or 295 will help much with grip?
