To be clear for the SRT folk, these caps fit our wheels?

Mercedes caps on ebay

When I measure the inside diameter of the center of our wheels, 72mm looks too big?

I want these so just looking for confirmation from someone that has installed them.

Thanks!

Look at post # 4. Those are the ones that I have on my car. For some reason, these are not as good of a fit as all of the others. Several people have bought these and have the same problem in that they are a bit loose. They are easy to modify though. Just remove the metal spring clip from the back and throw away. Then, heat each of the tabs at the base with a cigarette lighter an use pliers to bend the tabs slightly outwards at the base. They will then fit very snug.

I ordered the silver AMG discs from the same vendor (lexius ??) recently, and eventho the diameter was right (75mm/72mm) they wouldn't work on my SRT wheels, because the back legs on the discs were too deep to fit the hub and snug them to the wheel. (Hope I explained this right) I ordered them because of what I read, these "mercedes" discs would fit on the crossfire hubs (because of the MB heritage). BTW ... the discs I got had BRABUS marked on the backs.

Just read Morgans post above (crossed in the mail LOL) I guess I'll try the alteration , hope it works, Nothing to lose because they're worthless now...l

See my previous post... #25. Everyone that has bought these have had to modify them. Having said that, it only took less than 10 minutes to fix them, and I love them. I have been running with them for about 5 months now, and would not consider changing to anything else.

LOL...... we are just missing each other.

Yeah, if they have a 1/4 to 1/2 inch play in and out after you put them on, that is the same as the colored AMG ones, and my method will definitely work..

Where are you located? If you are close by, you should come down next weekend to run in the Import Showdown with me, 32Krazy!, and possibly XRay.

EDIT: Buggin may run his SLK32 also.

Well both, really. The caps I found on ebay were Mercedes AMG caps with 57mm ID and 60mm OD. When I went to install them, they fit in the center hole with slight resistance, but nowhere near enough (they actually fell out on their own).

I noticed they use the same style tensioning "C" spring as the OEM caps, but smaller. I carefully swapped the spring clip, which forced the locking tabs out a little more, which then held tight. One issue, the caps on the rear rims will not come out, but they rattle slightly. I got a large diameter O-Ring and used that as a "shim". I need to find a slightly thinner o-ring, which will completely hide it from view. The front actually fit in tight with no play at all. Weird.

I found those on Ebay....it says there are made out of aluminum. Are the tabs aluminum or plastic? I will probably order a set tonight. Thanks again!

The wording is a little misleading. The BADGE is made of aluminum, covered in some clear, domed material (actually quite nicely done). The center cap is actually plastic.

Where did you get those center caps and lugs from? I just picked up these rims and am looking to put some flare on them.

Those look great! Don't know where he got them from but I bet they are hard to keep 'bolts painted' and nooks/crannies on the rims clean!
