Default Decided on wheels... Finally

So I've been looking left and right for wheels I think and I've pretty much made up my mind

BBS LM reps

18x8.5 +35 front (will be spaced to +20 or lower)
19x9.5 +25 rear (will be spaced to around +18 to +15)
All of the spacing depends on how much pull I can get out of the fenders.

I'll be running 205/35/18's on the front and 225/35/19s on the rear. Im aiming for lots of stretch so I can lower it more. The fronts are an inch shorter in sidewall height and .5" narrower than what I run now. The rears are 1.2 shorter in sidewall height and 1.3" narrower. So going down another inch all the way around is do-able.

Im just waiting on the pricing for my set then I can hopefully get the ball rolling.
I also plan to paint all of the silver exterior accents the same opal color as the wheels. I think the opal is a good contrast to the black of my car and it helps break up the monotony of limited crossfires.

nice wheels. Let us know the pricing of the set when you get it. They'll look sharp on your car.

A 225 width tire on a 9.5 rim is going to look funny, in my humble opinion of course.

The 255's from the factory (rear) are too stretched for my liking, and that's on a 9" wide wheel.

Having said all of that, I'm sure it'll be a clean look.

I'm with Max tho, I wouldn't exactly call the Limiteds "mundane"... LOL.

Well its just everytime I see a crossfire, it has silver trim pieces. Plus with the color of the wheels the silver would look weird. I think that painting the trim pieces opal would set the car off from other crossfires, plus it would match the wheels.

Im ot so much worried about rim protection, the streets down here are flat and pothole free. Plus the car doesnt get driven a lot and only places I know the roads. If a wheel does get damaged I have a wheel repair hookup so its no biggie. I tried to find real BBS LM's but i havent been able to find a set in 5x112, nor in decent sizes and offsets.

The set of 4 is 896. so not too bad at all, centerbore is 73.1 so all I need are some hubcentric rings and I'll be fine

Hopefully going to be able to get the wheels in a few weeks, being injured and disabled makes doing anything but laying down painful

I do not believe they make BBS LMs in 5x112. Usually the Porsche guys run the LMs a lot. Thought I could be 180° wrong.

Very nice looking...

For others still looking for something, TireRack is having a summer wheel clearance.

nope, bbs never made 5x112, so reps are the closest thing I can get without actually having to work to fit real ones

Not my cup of tea, but I am sure my chrome 20s are not everyone's cup of tea either, what makes the world go 'round, I suppose....

I could be wrong here, but didn't you somewhat recently post that you hated fake *** 1 peice wheels trying to look like 2 or 3 piece wheels??

Just wondering.

i like the wheels but keep in mind, most likely they'll look about an inch smaller once mounted... since the spokes don't come to the edge of the rim like the oems.

just a thought.

Check my gallery, pretty close to my ASA's. I like your choice. Let me know if you get them I'll turn you on to a great wheel brush.

I dont recall posting that, I do hate people that try to pass off reps as real wheels... I've pretty much relegated this car to street duty, so a set of reps is fine, they get torn up, no big deal.

I honestly wouldnt mind that, for some reason the car looks a little hot wheelish when its slammed(alot) on the stock wheels

lol, I <3 you too
Single turbo is still in the works, my DD just took a crap on me so I have to drive the crossfire daily until I get it fixed, so I cant really work on it like I want until I get my truck fixed. Plus with my back the way it is, I can barely wash the car without having to take 2 pain pills and a nap. Once I get my health issues sorted out I'll start working on the kit.

Bad back at 23? Eeeesh. Hope you get that straightened out man. Aging is not a kind process.

In the last two years, I've sprouted 6 (yes, SIX) grey hairs on the sides of my head.
