Hi 'all

My mechanic has told me my 'cat' has gone and needs changing....can anyone tell me how much it will cost roughly cause I don't him charging me £400 - £500 as he said it would be expensive. - There's a rattling sound when I rev and start the engine really horrible.....please help.....thanks a a lot

 

Make sure it's not a heat sheild making your noise, also I'm not sure about your folks emission laws? but US federal emissions are covered under a warranty 8/80, also do a search for cat convertors there may be some more info there. You may be also able to find a good after market one, or even a used one?

 

If the front cat fails you would have a code most likely. Codes??? Woody
