Default Need a good street/drag tire.

Ok so i have been doing some research. It seems like the Toyos T1R's are a great choice for someone who doesnt want to run a drag radials but whats a performer at the strip. Now, are there any other options out there. how are the Kuhmos STP's? i prefer not to break the bank since i just picked up a code 3 pulley and will be getting a tune as well. I know this has been beaten to death but i need advice from people who have used street tires at the track and have had good results. Maybe Hankook ventus? Thanks.

No real answer from me. All I can impart is that the PS2's were not good. My current tire, Pilot Sport Cups are worse. Fantastic for cornering but poor at the dragstrip. I hope someone else can give good advice.

I was running the Kumho Ecsta SPT's at the track and did pretty good with them... you need to heat them up and have a good track prep... I was able to turn 1.7 60'.... and low 12's.... I still run the Kumho's for street driving...

edit: Oh yeah, dont just drop the hammer on green.. you have to feather into it a bit..

Nitto NT-05's I run them and love them, great grip, decent treadwear... Just dont get stuck in a torrential downpour or you'll be ice skating

I have a lot of experience with dot race tires/r-compounds.... be forewarned, they are incredibly noisy even when new and only get louder as they wear...

I've put about 1200 on my nt-05s and at 65+ with the windows down, the tire noise drowns out the radio (at reasonable volume) as well as my straight pipe exhaust. Plus its damn near as loud as the wind noise.

i ran nitto 555 and had great luck at the track. 1.7 60 ft times.
now my sales pitch! you have seen the carnage on the wavetrac thread. if you have the c3 and add a tune run dr's you are gonna bust that rear. get the lsd while you can and add the tires later.

just my .02 btw i run goodyear eagle ss dr's. 1 day at the track was enough to hurt my diff. stickyest darn dr's i have ever run!

so i decided to go with these. Ratings, reviews and specifications for Nitto Invo tires . reason being i searched various forums and a lot of the corvette guys are using these and they absolutely love them( even the z06 owners). so i should have more than enough grip with my less powerful srt. I will make sure to write a review.
