Default less expensive Brembo brake upgrade anyone?

I have an extra set of MB/Brembo four piston calipers for sale. These are a bolt on swap for a Crossfire. These calipers require a 330mm (same diameter as SRT) 28mm thick rotor from a C class. SRT rotors are 32mm thick and will not work with these calipers. I am currently running a similar set up on my car and there is a very noticable difference from n/a Crossfire braking. These calipers can be painted silver or any other color and "Brembo/Mercedes Benz/AMG" lettering is available on Ebay. I am looking for $200 for the calipers and they include the clips and pins but you will need pads.

Arghhh...I would love to get them from you but I'm moving my crossfire back to Germany and I'm not sure I sneak them past the TUV..

Good luck with sales though!

You would need C350 rotors with these calipers.

The calipers above have been sold. However, I have a similar setup that just came off my car. The ones off my car have been bead blasted, painted silver and have AMG logos on them. They are from a CL500 and use the 330mm SRT/SLK32 rotors. I can include the rotors too. $250 plus shipping. Or $200 for just the calipers. I only removed these because I am putting 330mm SLK55 rotors on the rear of my car and wanted my front rotors to be larger than the rear. I now have 345mm C32 rotors on the front with S600 calipers.

It's the same 4 piston style caliper, just the ears are longer to accomodate a 345 rotor instead of a 330 (we've been talking about different supets on MBWorld)

I personally did a rear brake upgrade on my C55 to an older CL55 that uses a larger caliper and 315 rotor, which leaves me with the removed 300 rear setup that's also found on the SRT. Looks like I might have me a free SRT rear brake upgrade once I get my car....

They are four piston. After you bead blast, paint and apply the AMG logos they are identical to C32 but are somewhat easier to find. The only difference is that you have to use some washers between the mount and the caliper. For the 345mm C32/C55/CLK500 rotor you can use C32/C55/CLK500 calipers or you can use S600 or CL600 calipers with about $4.00 worth of washers. For the 330mm SRT rotor you can use CL500 or S500 calipers with the same washers to center the caliper over the rotor. The CL500/S500 caliper is the only caliper that I have found that will work with the SRT rotor.

I picked up my custom rear mounts from my machinist last night. Time permiting, I will have the new rear set on this weekend which as mentioned above are 330mm rear SLK55 rotors with S/CL65 calipers. I could have used SLK55 calipers but they are expensive and almost non existent to find. Wait till you guys see the S65 calipers! They look like mini me versions of the front calipers. After upgrading the front brakes the tiny stock n/a rear brakes looked rediculous compared to the front.

Stay tuned! Btw, I also have an extra set of S/CL 600 calipers for sale. $225 plus actual shipping costs. So I have a set of calipers for both the SRT rotor and C32 rotor if anyone is interested.

I'm going to install a set of 2005 SRT6 rotors(13.2in) and calipers on my 2006 LTD Roadster along with braided SS brake lines. Where the ss braided line screws into the caliper do you or should I put lock tite on the ss braided line threads? What about mounting bolts too? It has been a long time since I did any brakes on disk, so I just don't remember. School me please!

Use blue loctite on the mounting bolts....dont use any loctite on the brake lines...

You will notice a nice difference with your new setup...

MikeR:
Thanks for the info, still have to rebuild the calipers, have all the parts, and have them painted red. Still have to clean the rears and paint and put the SS lines on.
