I was but decided to go Koni after reading everything possible. I would sure like to try the Bilstein but they won't loan them to me. At least with the Koni they are adjustable if I don't like the ride. Hopefuly there will be a setting I like. I saw some shock dynos of the Bilstein and Koni and it looks like the adjustments on the Koni's cover the range of the Bilstein's.

I ordered Koni's too for the 6. If you come across the torque specs, please post!

Yup, don't the bolts need to be tightened to spec?

I am guessing you need to read every new package of toilet paper to see just how many squares to use too.

Rear
Install the shock absorber (1) onto the lower control arm then install the bolt and nut (2). Tighten to 55 N·m (41 ft. lbs.) install the top shock absorber mounting hardware (1). Tighten to 18 N·m (13 ft. lbs.).

Front
Install the shock absorber lower bolt and nut (1) to the lower control arm shock. Tighten to 55 N·m (41 ft. lbs.) Install the shock absorber upper mounting nut (1). Tightento 18 N·m (13 ft. lbs.)

2004 Crossfire service manual
2-81 rear suspension
2-82 rear suspension
2-45 front suspension

Lantana, I was thinking about going to the KYBs you have previously posted on, what is the verdict on those?

the KYB's aren't bad at all. They were a little bouncy for the first few miles and then settled in nicely. With a lowered car they were better than stock. I thought they were fine but still was getting some complaints from my female passengers. I can probably give you a better comparison after comparing them to Koni's which everyone seems to think are the ultimate shock for a Crossfire. I did find out that Koni sells the same shock for the SLK and Crossfire, while Bilstein sells different shocks for each car and the Crossfire version has much stiffer rebound. I would love to know how the Bilstein's perform but I have been the guinea pig more than my fair share of the time (Anza muffler, KYB, V8 conversion, Brembo/MB calipers). I will soon be the guinea pig for a supercharger kit where all the programing is done in the stock ECU with no piggy back tuning system. I was soooo close to buying the Bilstein's, but couldn't figure out if the SLK or Crossfire ones would give me the better ride. I posted asking for help with this decision and didn't get any answers, so I went for the Koni.
