Default tire pressure monitor batteries

My indicator on the dash shows low tire pressure, yet when I check them they are ok. I have an '05 with orginal tires (car has 16,000 miles). Can I change the batteries in the transmitters or must I have a shop do it?

Thanks

Sorry .... TPMs are unserviceable for batteries ..... I've already asked. Was told that batteries were good for 10 yrs.
