Rear Brake Pad Replacement Question
I was perusing the service manual for my new (to me) Crossfire. In regard to rear brake pad replacement, it says that the brake hose must be removed from the rear caliper in order to replace the pads. From the illustration, it appears that the hose prevents the pad hold-down pin from being extracted, something which must be done before the pads can be removed. This would entail bleeding the brake lines every time the pads are replaced (which, or course, is not that often). Still, is this absolutely necessary? Would appreciate comments from those who've done this job.
You don't need to disconnect the line or remove the caliper. It's still a good idea to change your brake fluid and bleed the bakes regularly. Depending on your driving habits and usage - yearly.
