Steering/Handling Issue...new steering dampener or do I have a serious issue?
Before I deployed a year ago my car started to react to grooves in the road, I would feel the wheel turn and the front end seemed kind of loose. When I have to come to a stop quickly and catch any grooves in the road my wheel wants to turn, usually to the right. I have a new dampener in the garage, but is there something else I should look at or tighten up?
I would definitely go ahead and replace the stabilizer, that sounds like it is the issue. if not, you haven't lost anything and you can look for the problem. Based on your description though, i would imagine that should fix it.
I just had an alignment and it fixed how my srt used to react to ruts in the road. No pulling at all. I had done the steering stabilizer but it only helped a bit.
what about changing the tie rod end / assembly?
The steering sucks.....but it is what it is. The stabilizer will help, and it never hurts to check alignment, as well as, air pressure in the tires. Experiment with the pressure. All tires are a little different as well as your feel for the car....no set combination, as we all drive a little differently. I like a little more pressure, and would love to have rack and pinion...but hey, can't have it all....love the cars anyway..
