Re: Stiffer springs that dont lower?
I called air lift and they said they have a bag that is 3" in dia. this would do what you want ,,you have to remove the springs to install them they will not squeeze between the spring gap to install as in the instruction. same size for front and rear the rear is spring is tighter(smaller in dia. jim
the stock springs are front 3.25 the rear 2.85dia so you need a 3" air lift bag for the front 3" and that is the smallest they make so you would have to push it into the rear springs. it will work,,, mount you filler valve or line, if you want them tied together.

Re: Stiffer springs that dont lower?
I purchased some spring rubbers but I couldn't get them in. So I cut them into pieces and crammed them in. Didn't do anything that I could tell. My advise is to check all the Mercedes V-8 springs you can find. I had no luck finding spring rates and uninstalled heights but I didn't try too hard. I have K&W's and the car still dives and moves more than I like but it's so much better than stock.

I agree with shocks. Good adjustable ones aren't too expensive and will stiffen you up nicely.
the crossfire can not hold the weight on the shocks, ( that is why there is no real coil overs) for us , this is straight from KW Yes they called me we talked for awhile ,they said the spring adjuster had to be where it is and the shock towers could not hold the pressure of coil overs
Re: Stiffer springs that dont lower?
The improved shocks will increase the control or speed that the weight shifts but won't change the amount of movement. To get rid of brake dive requires real stiff springs. K&W front springs are 640 lbs per inch of movement. I'm thinking more than that would be unlivable for most people but I'd welcome around 800 for the track.

I have bought Vogtland springs, in the front the lowered the car by 30mm but nothing on the rear. I will cut mine to lower the rear by 20-30mm.
