Default Still debating between, Akebono ceramic, Centric Gold ceramic, Posi quiet ceramic

Hello everyone !

I am still debating between Akebono pads, Centric Gold ceramic, and the Posi quiet ceramic.

When I read something positive about a brand, there is another posting negative comments ...!

What I want is, good brakes, Quiet brakes, and for last but important no black dust.

This is for my wife 2005 Crossfire Roadster Limited. No racing, just regular everyday driving.

Thank you again
George

Well George I see you posted this twice. Everyday driving? Just pick one, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill here. It's not a life changing financial situation is it?

I had the same queation a year or so back. I searched the forum and found the same info - positives and negatives on all of them. So I did what any 1/2 broke person would do and bought the cheapest ones. I bought he Posi-Quiets and I will say that I am very satisfied with them. I don't race and my car had the original pads on. I hated the front tire brake dust and I have not had 1 issue with brake dust since I installed them. In fact I like them so well that I bought Posi-Quiiets for the rear as well. My $.02

Are they quiet ? I also have the original one's, and there very quiet never heard a thing.
I need to replace the front one's.

Someone told me that the wear warning light won't work anymore ...

I agree, once I installed my Posi-Quiet front pads, I never looked back. But then someone will post a negative and confuse the poor guy again...

Check my sig, got posi-quiets all around. No diust since install and they grip quite nicely. Also, no squeaking or squealing (I used the OEM shim when I took the OEM's off and put them on the posi-quiets. Very satisfied customer and they were the least expensive with a coupon code and free shipping! I have a post detailing the purchase/install here in this forum.

lmao.... My sentiments exactly... all we're doing is driving from here to there.

I put on DuraLast Gold from AutoZone for $75. They work fine, NO dust, no squeal and I haven't run out of brakes yet.

+1 for Posi-Quiets.

Virtually NO brake dust, silent (with a very rare squeak when they get really hot), still have a lot of meat on em after ~20k

Ditto on the Posi-Quiets. Got them all the way around on the N/A with drilled and slotted rotors. 25k and NO dust, squeaks and very little wear.

Got any cracks around the drilled holes yet? I use to have them on my Miata, which spent a lot of time in the local canyons, and I found cracks in mine. Had to look real close.

Ya Red, I had heard about that some time back and inspected them when I had the tires replaced. No cracks whatsoever. 'Coarse there's no canyons in FLA. and it's my daily driver to work so I'm on the lower aggression scale.

I sure the scale will go up now that I'm driving the SRT. Brakes will be replaced soon.

I'm betting there's a certain amount of a: who made the rotors and b: if they were drilled by the local brake shop into everyday rotors.
