squealing brakes still?
I have posi quiet ceramic pads with centric crossdrilled/slotted rotors. I put 4,000 miles on the pads and started to have squealing because I failed to apply anti-squeal grease.
So I took everything apart and applied the anti-squeal grease to every surface that I could find that had contact between the pad and the caliper including the front slide pins. I even applied it to the rear pins and clip.
5 days later the squealing is back but not as severe.
Any ideas?

My Akebonos squealed and this solved my problem, there was no grease put on originally.
This may be way too late to help but when I switched to the posi-quiets I swapped the shims from the OEM pads to the new pads during install. Never used any antisqueal grease and they didn't peep any inthe slightest. Still going strong with fantastic braking and no dust or squeal.
I agree the OEM shims should retained when possible. If the anti squeal compound doesn't last, use rtv silicone. Just make sure it doesn't make contact with the piston boot
Last September I took the Crossfire in to the local NTB to have AdaptiveOne ceramic pads and new rotars installed. Although I had little brake dust, they would squeal on occassion when warm. After putting about 1100 miles on them, I took the car back in to have the noise fixed and they ended up putting new pads and rotars on under warranty. They probably have 15 miles on them and they squeal like crazy now, even when cool. They said they used brake grease, but I'm not sure about the shims. Is there an easy fix for this or do I need to take it somewhere else? Some people said to keep the old shims, but those are long-gone now.
