Just had wheel bearings replaced on my front, left side; And I noticed the inside of the tire is way worn out about 1/4 width wise. I couldn't have seen that unless the tire is removed.

My question is: After alignment, can I rotate the left tire to the right tire (including rim) so that I can stop the wearing off of and try to get as much life out of that tire as I can.

Also, I suspect that the loud humming noise I'm hearing is caused by that unevenly worn tire.

If they are directional, no.

 

I do have the same problem with my rear tire, it used unevently I need new tire. Do I need to rotate my tire..

 

You can rotate them side to side if they are the original Conti, they were not directional. But the best way is too have the tires flipped on the rim and have them put on the other side. That way what was an inside edge is now an outside edge. It works for directional tires as well. It can be costly but it may get you some additional life out the tires.

What's to be gained. If the tire wore because of a defect and the defect is removed, What changes if you move it to another location?

If the suspension is sound, rotation is not necessary. We do it to mask uneven wear caused by mechanical issues, aggressive driving or to balance F/R differences.
