Actually the title I set is misleading , I really wanna share something with you guys that have plagued rwd cars for ever and the is the dreadful winter snow and storms
Instead of garaging your xf or paying extra money for snow tires and a set steelys or any wheel for that matter is this


I've known about these since I had my gti and I personally never bought them because honestly the city of Chicago does an excellent job on plowing during snow storms
But i know some of you live in rural areas and rely on local plow men to take care of your drive ways and streets

Any opinons ? I know if I had a garaged home I wouldnt want to store my xf in it at all because who says driving in snow is Impossible for us

Interesting.

About 40,000 miles ago Tire Rack dumped their inventory of 265/35/19 Bridgestone LM-25 V rated "winter" tires for $100 each. Most thought I wouldn't get 10,000 miles running them year round....well at the 40,000 mile mark I'm starting to consider putting on the spare set I bought at that price. At one time these were $400 each. I've driven through 8 inches of fresh snow with them......with the right tire you can get through just about anything in this car! They are only V rated........but then I rarely go over 150 mph. First set still has 3 to 4 32nds left & they still have SIPES showing.

 

Honestly if you ever find a bargain on freshly used tires with at least 70% tread go for it , but this post was about the alternative

 

How long do you think these will last?
Winter tires are the answer, all season tires do nothing well. If you have to drive in snow and ice, get winter tires.

 

I use blizzards. We have 40 cm snow right now. Srt6 is doing just fine in wintermode and tc ON

 

And how long have you been selling these? JK, there are alternatives for everything. Mine is if you have to drive in snow/ice, use the worst vehicle you have and have insurance for the other guys bad driving!

 

Thanks to global warming we have not had any snow yet except a light dusting and hopefully we will not for some time.

At this rate we will be planting palm trees in ten years time.

 

We are supposed to get snow here soon , never drove a rwd in winter but i know they arent the greatest
But I'm sure the product from ecs is a long lasting product

Global warming doesn't exist ..I won't say anything further as my political views don't matter on this forum
Point is i just hope it gets warmer
