Default Anyone running 18x8 +35mm with no issues?

According to all calculators I've used, the fitment should actually give more room than my current setup (18x8.5 +32mm).

But, as we know... the online calculators don't take into account the massive bolt sticking down from the upper A-arm that can shred a tire.

If I run 225/40/18 on the 18x8 +35 wheel, will I be able to run the setup without a spacer? Hoping for some real-world experience, rather than guesses. ~$1,000 on the line, haha.

Cheers,

After sticking the 235 40 on the wilhelms you "should" have plenty of room (no experience other than the stocks and you know the rest) but from calcs vs mine you should have a good pinky + of space. Spacer could go on for looks though depending on how low you plan to go. If you bump up to 235 you still have more clearance than I do, I would say you're safe but I won't refund your 1K

Les may have to chime in for the peace of mind, he's the wheel whisperer

With low profile, I got 255's on the front with 8.5 rims. The tire store could not mount then so I had to take them home and use lighter fluid to boom them on. The bolt is close, I rounded the end of it for extra room though. Believe the tires were 35% high. Woody

Yes, with the setup I'm looking at, the wheel would only be 1/2" wider overall than stock.

Tire size would remain same as stock.

Perhaps the better question would be, how much room is there between the bolt and a stock front wheel/tire? I can make a reasonable guess from there.

Thanks gents,

Minimum 1/2" and in autocrossing, it NEVER hit with slicks or tires. Wheel cant move inboard, no reason to touch / hit. It just looks tight, the spindle would have to break first. Wdy

My 255's with a 30 offset (18x9) didn't touch the bolt, but I later filed it smooth to be more comfortable with it. It did however, rub the fender liner screw and the lip on big bumps. You can extrapolate from this real life info if it will rub or not.

I have 18x8 et35 with OE size tires.
It does scrub a little at full lock, but I've also get the Eibach lowering springs...

Good to hear. So, no interference with the suspension bolt though, that's good.

Thank you for the feedback!
