Default Soft Pedal, need suggestions

I got done with my brake job. SS lines, upgraded front calipers, rotors, pads, etc. I bled them initially using the super blue fluid. Drove it. On initial depression the pedal went too far toward the floor. Pump it once and I have decent brakes. Bled it again and there were a few bubbles in the rear lines, but what I discovered is one of the front bleeder screws was leaking a little. I got paint on the threads and didn't clean it off before install. I cleaned the threads as best I could and then tightened them down more this time.

Drove it again and same thing. Initial depression, not much brake. Pump it once and it feels good. I used the power bleeder. Any thoughts?

Should bedding in the brakes make this any better?

Should I try a different method? The fluid is coming out solid and clean.

Would it make a difference if the car is running?

I remember bleeding brakes the first time and using the buddy system is just a pain. Thankfully the hobby shop here has a vacuum so just open the valve push the pedal once and good to go.

If the air is in the master cylinder, do you need to pump the brakes (buddy system) to get the air out or will the power bleeder system still work?

After the work I did last night it is better, but I want it more firm.
