About to lower my car
So I have some lowering springs coming in tomorrow. I know I am supposed to trim the bump stops, and install front adjustable camber bolts and rear adjustable camber arms. Is there anything else that I should do to keep the alignment and suspension close to factory?
I haven't lowered the car yet. The springs came in today but I am waiting on some more parts before I start. I have the front bolt kit coming in this weekend. I still need to order the rear adjustable camber arms, and I think I am going to order an adjustable sway bar link as well.

O sorry, I thought you were asking what my the actual camber ended up being after lowering the car. You actually can get rear camber arms for our cars. They are expensive and are meant for the slk but I think they fit.
I am going to build my own following syfi's guide https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...r-cambers.html
I found these on ebay, they should fit our cars. They look really nice, but it is a little out of my budget. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-R170-SLK-Class-98-04-Adjustable-Rear-Camber-Arm-Arms-/390572122230?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5aefe9a076&vxp=mtr

I think the speedy Benz and MB arts(?) ones are still around for purchase although quality/price may be a deterrent depending on which you choose. Enough people have gone the DIY route that I wouldn't be too afraid of going that way but I'm just glad I got the MikeRs when I did. I do not have any worries about their strength or functionality although I may change ends to the style Rudy was using for testing.
Has anyone done diy sway bar links? I know MikeR made a few, and Rudy was going to make them also, but what about with just off the shelf parts like syfi's rear camber arms? I am going to try the same method with the sway bars, just with shorter tubes. It would be nice if there was already a part list though.

Yea, a lot less money. They look really nice and are probably pretty good quality, but since I am on a budget I choose to go DIY. It is less than half the cost of those. Once I get the parts for the camber arms in I am going to see if the same can be done for the sway bar links.

Keep us posted on your progress here. I agree, I wish there was a definitive parts list to get this done.
Still debating on what parts to use myself and finding a good shop in the PA/DE area to do the work.

The mikeR links use the same end as the camber arms for the bottom. The top is a smaller size end and has the bolt that goes through it to attach to the sway. No reason it can't be done as well, I posted up a picture with rough measurement of the bar, think it is 4"
How much did 1/2 coil lower your car by?
I already ordered the camber arm parts so I will have to order the sway bar parts after I lower the car and make some measurements. Hopefully I can get that done this weekend and get some sway bar parts by next weekend and get a list for everyone else.
Try this post for some pics of the sway link. Won't have all the measurements you need but should help. If i remember correctly MikeR wanted to revise the design a little. Think it was getting rid of the hex bar and going with something similar to the arms but I am not 100% sure. The stock link is 7 3/4" I believe so as long as you can adjust the link shorter than that you should be all set. It's a delicate balance though and I don't think you can put it in the exact spot it needs to be with a straight camber arm. That being said the link helps a bunch with ride comfort and contact with the inner wheel well in the back. Id really like to see what Rudy's link looked like to find out what he used for the ends.

I am stock height, wonder if I still need to shorten the bumper stops in the konis... ?
So for the sway bar links I can just order 2 more of the ends I needed for the camber arms to do the bottom, order a shorter version of the tube ( I will measure that when I lower the car). For the top mount does anyone know the size? Maybe someone can measure the ends mikeR used?

I had to get find a short piece of aluminum tube at a local hardware store to use as a spacer since the bolt at the bottom is smaller than the bar end.
At the top end, I pulled the short bolt out of the existing link to go through the 5/8 hole in the Heim.
It sounds like a bit of a hack job, but it works and everything is snug.
