Deal on General G-MAX AS-03
Found what I thought was a pretty good deal on the G-MAX AS-03s for the XF. I'd been debating between these and the Continental DWSs for some time, this was enough for me to pull the trigger.
General G-MAX AS-03 - Free Delivery Available | TireBuyer.com
Total came out $50 cheaper than TireRack at $650.51 for all four, including taxes and shipping. Only catch is you have to have it delivered to one of their installers. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is in the market at the moment, and I'll be sure to update if it's a poor experience in any way.

Super fast shipping - the tires arrived at my installer yesterday, and I had them installed today. Installation was $10 cheaper than advertised, I kept my old tires for spares, and added the road hazard with towing for another $70. Came out to just under $800 all said and done.
As for the tires, hard to say much just yet. The car was thoroughly heat soaked by the time I got it out... I accidentally left it running while I was drying it off and vacuuming today, and went for a drive directly afterwards. Stuck well under acceleration, and they are much quieter than that Michelin's I had previously. That being said, The sidewalls feel considerably softer too. I'm cautiously optimistic at the moment.

They do have a softer sidewall.
I run 275/35 19 on back and am very pleased with them for rear tire. Good wet and dry traction.
Great treadwear.
Front I like a stiffer sidewall like run flats.

I love them on the back but to soft of sidewalls for front. I like a runflat on front for the stiffer sidewalls. The wet traction with the g-max's is great
I love the generals! Had them on my xfire since I bought it three years ago. Usually get about 45,000 miles out of the front and around 20,000 out of the rears (I do drive like a moron on the highway). Just bought these as my front end was way out of alignment and ate through the inner edge of one of my tires.

First Impression,
Great ride, no road noise, soft sidewalls for the KYB/Eibiach Pro combo. By BF Goodrich's had more bite side to side but the General's have quieted the car considerably. No road vibrations even on the crappy NC highways, lots of bite when I step on the pedal, a more luxurious ride for sure. Very Minor, but noticeable, reduction is lateral performance. The millisecond longer it takes for the car to respond laterally is worth the improvement in ride quality. (Highway road noise, vibration, and plastic rattling sounds in my almost 10 year old car).
Great buy, and great bang for your buck!

Tires have settled and after some driving I have feedback.
Excellent handling in the rain! Might as well have been dry..... Lot's of control.
Side walls are a bit soft, My BF Goodriches had more bite for sure, but the ride was quite bumpy. So cheap lap tires..... BF's Cheap Daily drivers..... GMAXs.
Something in the middle would be nice.... Hancooks will be what I try next.
