Tires losing air, is this normal?
Is it normal to have to add air to your tires frequently? About every two weeks my TPS light comes on and the tires are low. I haven't had the car long (August) and I put new tires on right after I bought it. It could be a combination of the low profile tires, the car not being driven all the time, and it getting cold; however, I'm curious if this seems normal or if I should have the tires checked. Thanks.
Sometims this is caused by a crack in the wheel
If you are adding air to all the tires I suspect you have corrosion between the tires and the rims also known as a rim leak or a bad bead seal
How old are your tires ?
It is not normal to need to add air that frequently though
Any tire shop should be able to determine the problem

Back in the day we would come across an aluminum wheel that was porous and the fix was to remove the tire, wipe the wheel with alcohol, and and apply a thin coat of latex pain to the inside of the rim. Haven't seen one like that this century though & all cars are on factory aluminum wheels (not necessarily ones that came on them though).
Check the Crossie about monthly but think I only added air once in the year I've had mine.
If having an issue, I'd dismount the wheel and spray the rim where the tire meets the rim (bead area) with soapy water and watch for bubbles. If that is the problem most tire shops will have a can of bead sealer that may be what you need. Tire does need to be dismounted to apply.

Drop in temperature greatly lowers tire pressure, and u can check to see if there is a good seal by putting soapy water in a squirt bottle and spraying around the rim and look for bubbles, would be very small bubbles, but would have to check inner and outer bead seal.
