Brake Switch Location?
Hey!
Title should let everyone know what my issue is.
I'm trying to replace my brake switch with a new one -- I just can't find it!
I'm curious if I need to take the knee bolster off to get to the brake switch, as I know for certain it goes all the way up the brake pedal rod.
If I need to remove the knee bolster, I'll have on quarrels with it -- I just want to know if that's a necessity.
I appreciate any and all information on the topic present.
Thanks!

It is on the inside of the firewall just below the piston to the brake booster.
I think, I'd better check though. LOL
Yeah, it's there.

It is on the brake pedal, there are two small wire cable connectors on it, take them off and twist the switch and it will come out.

I was thinking the same thing-for both of these guys!
"Natural" might be the connector color?

You will notice that it says black connector and then natural connector, black is self explanatory and natural is a plastic that has no color pigments added to it. That means it is that near white you see on many plastic parts. Colored parts have pigment pellets added to the natural plastic sometime prior to the molding process.
The pellets go into a screw barrel that mixes and heats the plastic and pigment pellets into a homogeneous molten plastic state which is then the fed at high pressure into the mold.

Give that man a prize.
Thanks a ton, man!
This switch controls your brake lights as well as your shift interlock switch (auto transmission).
If it does not function and you have an auto, you would not be able to shift out of park. If you have a manual - the police will usually let you know. I periodically back up in front of a glass faced store to double check all my rear lights are working.

If you have a limited or SRT, your dash has a light out indicator that will do that for you, Ryan.
If even tells you if a brake light goes out - ask me how I know.
