Smaller wheels/larger tires?
Didn't see what I was looking for in the sticky so sorry if I missed something. Extremely close to buying an 05 base model and was wondering if anyone has gone down in tire size? I know the 04 Slk320s came with 16/17, is that possible on the crossfire? What issues might I run into? Thanks

2 reasons: To possibly soften the ride a little, and there's a small chance I may drive it in the winter
Was there any speedometer calibration required or was it not enough difference to worry about?
Smaller diameter rims are going to be difficult on the front because of the brake calipers. Not just any 17" rim will work. You may find a 17" rim that will fit with lots of measuring or trial and error. The rear has lots of room and most 16" rims will fit if you so desire.

I have those sizes on both of my XFs and never a problem!
Also have the General G-Maxs on the Limited. 42K on the first set and on the second set now. Great prices and compairable to the Pilot Sports!

Not lowered. Still @ OEM height w/ KYB shocks all around.
Have the DIY rear cambers and front eccentric bolts installed with a 4-wheel laser alignment for perfect tire wear.

Like las said in the front you will need to find a rim that clears th brake rotor.
as long as you use a tire that is 26 to 27" tall in th rear you will be fine ( no changes to the speedo or anything else.
stock is front 25.1 tall,,rear is 26.0
You can use ,,,front 17' rim,, tire 215/50-17,,235/45-17,,255/40-17,
you can use ,,rear , 17" rim,,tire 285/40-17, 255/40-17,255/45-17
front 16" rim.. tire 225/50-16,,205/60-16,,245/45-16
rear 16" rim,,tire 255/50-16 ,,265/50-16 255/50-16,, 275/50-16
good luck jim
