As I said-mine comes on at pressures below 36 these days. And sometimes anyhow.
Then, after a 80+MPH run to the next town on the interstate, it will go off again for days.

2005 Limited with TPS working at OEM (doorjamb) pressures.
As onehundred80 says, if you can replace the batteries, the sensors should just keep working.

.
Removed my sensors (and bypassed that garbage OEM TPMS) when I bought new tires. Too much of a headache to tear down, replace, and rebalance (not to mention but I will), EXTREMELY expensive and a hassle when the mechanic hasn't a clue). Put shortest 'stubbies' on the rims and just recently bought an aftermarket valvestem TPMS system that works GREAT. $ slightly over $20 (with tax), very happy, but this toy (aftermarlet TPMS solar charging) only suppliments the 'tried and true' tire pressure gauge. Old habits die hard!
Re: Who Has the Oldest, Original TPMS System that Still Works?
Interesting tidbit if you didn't know, the old TPMS systems that sensed pressure have been replaced in most new cars with a TPMS system that utilizes the independent wheel speed sensors (which XF's have). By monitoring the wheel speed sensors the car can determine if one tire is turning ever so slightly faster than another as a tire running low on pressure will rotate just a little faster than a tire that is at proper pressure. A tire at full pressure will have a little larger diameter so it won't rotate quite as fast.

Umm actually that is the old system. TPMS is new, measuring wheel speed is old. TPMS became adopted when run-flats became the "in thing". You cant determine if the tire is low on air accurately with the wheel speed sensors when run-flats are involved.
My old bmw's use the wheel speed sensor method. My new ones that have run-flats have TPMS.

2nd Owner - 2007 XFire Limited Coupe - Have replaced the TPMS wheel sensors (REDI-Sensors) on PS & used DRB3 Emulator to re-sync - OEM original wheel sensors still working on DS.
