My 2006 roadster has been more or less in storage for the last three years. I have added less that 200 miles in that time. Tires are old and close to legal limits on tread depth so time to get new shoes on all fours.
This may well be the last tires I buy for some time so I want to get good ones. Right now I have Hankook's which are reasonably priced and adequate but I wish I could get the old General Exclaims. They were exceptional. But, last time I checked, no longer available.
I am not looking for a bargain. I drive hard and want directional performance treads.
I'm taking suggestions
Pirelli P Zeros. But of course who wants to take a second mortgage out on a house lol.
Ive always has good performance and tread wear with Falkens. I recently bought Nankangs all season all the way around as I’m using these on my other set of wheels for driving to and from work. 255/40/18 on the front and 285/35/19 on the back. Honestly they’re not bad tires so far and the ride really does seem a lot smoother than the falken summer tires. I paid 450 for all four. Discount Tire price matched Walmart’s prices. I got the warranty they provide for any unusual wear or road hazards as well. So if they end up being crap they’ll replace them. I figured not bad, they’re just for work.
Its your money and you would think you pay more, you get more. But I've had these Barum Bravuris (owned by Continental) tires on my SRT6 since December of '18. Our Crossfire is a fair weather car so if there is snow or rain out there, she's garaged. But, should we get caught in the rain, she won't shrink and she's got wipers . Put 1,700+ miles on her at the beginning of this month (Tail of the Dragon...what a blast). THAT was a true test of grip ability. Drove that 11 mile stretch 4 times. The tire sticks, wet or dry. It is a rated performance tire (up to 186 mph). Bang for the buck, out the door at Discount tire for under $500.00, mounted, balanced and road hazard warranty.

Just punch in your stock sizes...$148.00 for a set of fronts and $222.00 for a set of rears + tax etc.
Check 'em out. Good luck on your decision.
Regards,
Ditto on these (running for over three years already), BUT they are not 'one direction'. I look at these as better than 'one direction' tires to keep a uniform wear given driver habits (me) and balancing of left to right wear IF any slim alignment variances exist. If unidirectional tires are a requirement, these are not for you Franc!

Thanks GG. I'm think I'm going to pass on the Bravuris tires partly because they are not directional but also because there is no local distributor.
That said ,I am appreciative of the suggestion from Crossfire Rush and may well keep them in mind for a daily driver. Yes, I am considering another Crossie. This one for my grandson who thinks he will inherit my roadster. NA, coupe 6 spd likely red.

Understand on why you want unidirectional tires so if that's your choice... Did you know Barum Bravuris are European Continentals AND are warranted by Continental Tire USA?

Yes.
But it is 75 miles to the nearest distributor.
Currently my roadster has two flats because somebody I PO-ed got even. Broke off my valve stems! So I would have to drive to Springfield in my truck with four wheels and later mount them myself. It'll take a whole day. I have a Plaza Tire shop 2 blocks from my house. I could drive there on the flats. And get Falkin's, Hankook's or Michelins
Even Perellis

I like my combo.
Yokohama avid ENVIGOR on the front (made in usa) MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S PLUS ZP all-season in the rear I went with 285 in the rear, but 285's zp 's will not work on the oe wheels, I went with 19x11 rear wheels, really widened out the tread. I have had, summito, Goodyear, 2 different continentals, general gmax, but I like the current setup the best.
