Default Rear tire size

I am about to put new tires on my SRT6, and I read through the post regarding rear tires. The normal size for the rear is 255/35R19. I saw a post stating that some owners went to a 275/35/R19 and some to a 285/35R19.

If you are one of these owner did the size you choose change the feel of the car?
Did the size rub?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Nelson

I have used 285/35/19 on my rear wheels for 15 years and never had any issues with clearance
The ride feels the same and the look is much better with the larger tire
They also are slightly wider than the rim and will protect from any possibility of curb rash
I highly recommend 285/35/19

I have posted this 3 to 4 times
--------------------------------------------------REAR___________________________________
255/35-19 are 10" wide rim to ground is 3.5" and the tire is 26" in diameter does not rub
265/35-19 are 10.4 wide rim to ground 3.7" and the tire is 26.3 tall ,, does not rub
275/35-19 are 10.8 wide -------------------3.8" -------------------26.6 tall does not rub
285/35-19 -----11,2 wide -------------------3.9 ----------------------26.9" tall and does rub on some crossfires if your suspension is worn.
now You can also run 20" rims the factory suggest a
255/30-20------10" wide --------------------3.0 to the ground-----26" tall
265/30-20-------10.4 wide--------------------3.1-----------------------26.3 tall
any tire over 27" or taller will rub and will not work.
-----------------------------------FRONT--------------------------------------------
225/40-18---------8.9 wide-------------------3.5 ----------------------25.1
225/3519---------8.9 --------------------------3.1------------------------25.2
225/30-20--------8.9----------------------------2.7 to the ground-----25.3 -----all
Note if You want to run 18 all around REAR 265/40-18 ----FRONT stock tire with stock rim or stock tire with 18x8.5 rim

Valk thanks. I did put the measure through a tire calculator, just could not tell if they would rub. Your input will make it much easier to choose the larger rear tire. Thank you again.

And I didn't mention that I have used these on 2 different Crossfires over 15 years
Here they are on my previously owned 2004 Crossfire Coupe 285/35/19

I used an online calculator to see which tires could be used instead of the original size. What the calculator does not tell a user if they will rub. So I guess it's me LOL.
