OK - now I'm more confused than ever . . . I've spent many hours researching this on the forum and with google on the internet . . . I still don't have any definitive answers . . . I don't know where the Pierburg part number 0004781701 (in the subject of this thread) came from??
Here's what I THINK I know . . .
The SL55 fuel pump that is often referenced in the forum to make the fuel system upgrade on our SRT6 cars is a Pierburg PN #7.00228.51. From the Pierburg website http://www.wilmink.nl/pierburg/Pierb...stofpompen.pdf , this pump is a model E3L fuel pump (Go to the bottom section of the PDF you'll find at that link and look in the summary area chart. You'll find the Pierburg pump #7.00228.51 specification summary shown there. This pump has a VERY high flow rate of 300 - 360 liters / hour.
OneHundred80 . . . The links you show in your post (for Pierburg and also on the attachment link) go to a Pierburg pump E1F type pump . . . That is not what we need and if you'll look at the specifications for that pump you referenced the flow rates are very low . . . Installing that pump might well lead to AFR problems and engine damage. I suggest you may want to edit your post?
Now, lets make it even more confusing . . .
I ordered an SL55 fuel pump from CarGuts (they specialize in Mercedes salvage so they should know what they are doing). I expected to get a Pierburg #7.00228.51 pump but received a Pierburg #7.28337.00 pump (looks exactly the same). Following up with the folks a CarGuts, they tell me those two part numbers are interchangeable. I'm not so sure . . . Before I invest the time and effort of installing it and THINKING that everything is right, I'd like to see some definitive specifications showing that the flow rates are the same on those two pumps. The part number of the pump I received does not even show up in the Pierburg PDF in the Pierburg website.
Does ANYBODY have the definitive answers on what Pierburg pumps are acceptable to make our high flow fuel system upgrade? I don't have (and don't want) all the fancy Zietronic equipment so I also don't want to install something that I THINK may be right and end up damaging my engine. H E L P!
PS . . . A final note . . . more than one forum member personally advised me to stay away from the Walbro pump telling me that some users have experienced "problems" after installing the Walbro pump. The Pierburg SL55 pump is apparently the current "go to" pump for making the high flow fuel system upgrade. Just sayin' . . .

Not trying to suck up here but this was a factor in my decision to buy my pump from Rob.
You have a feeling of comfort in knowing that when you buy a product from Rob at Needswings that you have bought the right part that has been tested and proven to be compatible to your Crossfire. It may not be at a "fire sale " price but a great quality product. That's got to be worth something $$$$.

I'm not seeing any specs that show a pump diameter of 65mm. I think OleDoc2U was referencing supercharger pulley sizes not fuel pump diameters . . . According to the spec chart on the Pierburg website, the pump diameter is 43.2mm

Hey Steve, I won't disagree. NEEDSWINGS does end up getting most of my Crossfire upgrade monies . . . Rob has always provided patient support, excellent customer service and only top quality products that are correct for our Crossfires.

installing a sl55 pump & adjustable reg
can anyone tell me if you leave that little pot in that looks like a small reg? It is on the line between the stock filter going to the rail.
