Re: Need drivers side trunk separator bracket - convertible
R U still looking for a trunk separator bracket? Picked one up today at a scrap yard. Still have to check the switch for functionality. Let me know if you are interested.

THANK YOU!
I was able to use pieces of plastic and epoxy to repair. Solid and stronger than original. BUT how much for the part? I think like everyone else I has a small pile of various useful and useless spare parts just in case.

I’m with you on that a useless useful pile of stuff.
Also good Great work on the repair. I have one I repaired too but they tend to break in the same place every time without lots of JB Weld or your adhesive of choice.
Re: Need drivers side trunk separator bracket - convertible
What I did was cut up the caps to some sprays can so that the vertical part of the cap is a strip of plastic. I then hit that with a heat gun so I could flatten it. I cut up pieces to cover every area where there was a crack front and back of the crack.
To put it together I used an industrial epoxy my engineer neighbor from Henkel-Loctite gave me. It is essentially epoxy that mixes with cyanoacrylate as it is dispensed. You can due essentially the same by putting some cyanoacrylate on the pieces first nd then the epoxy. When you apply the pieces together move them side to side a bit to get the glues to combine. This allows the pieces to set harder sooner.
By using the plastic pieces the epoxy is reinforced. The cyanoacrylate will react with the plastic to improve how well it holds together while the epoxy gives better sheer and tensile strength.
Pics of the end result. I did no clean up and left as is. You can see that places are built up from the plastic and glue.
