Default Deer meets Crossfire

I hit a deer last night. No one was hurt except the deer which was put down. Now, I need advice form those who had body work done on their Crossfires. Any experiences would be helpful. Is there an advantage to using a dealer for the repair? Are there any special considerations for this car? Do I have to worry about aftermarket parts? Is there any thing special about the paint finish?
The damage is limited to the front left fender, the hood, the headlight assembly and possibly the bumper.

Thanks,
Johnnie

Take the car to the best body shop in town...dealer body shops specialize in getting cars back on the showroom floor...their work is in haste and never perfect. I recommend you search around and call to find some place with an outstanding reputation. They will fix your baby right!!!

Yes, definitely search around...you may want to find a shop that specializes in high end automobiles and exotics...they tend to have more concern for detail which is key in having body work done. Call a few exotic dealerships and ask who they use for body work...

i had a new bumper put on mine thanks to some kind of animal. and i had a dealer do the body work. and i will say the paint is good they were easy to work with and took excellent care of my car. but they were trying to get me in and out as fast as possible, and when they were missing parts to fix my car properly they just went on and hoped i would not notice. that caused for a second trip to the body shop cause i did notice. but they did the work free of charge.

Take your time. I went to a place that was recommended to me and we went and looked at the shop everything looked good. I thought I picked a good shop. Well I didn’t. The shop refused to fix it and now I have to settle for the work that they did rattles and all! And get some that you know will stick behind their work!

I've hit 8 deer here in Kansas in 12 years while driving jeeps, mustangs, sebrings, some with deer whistles and some without. I'm paranoid about driving the X-Fire and when. That is probably one of the main reasons the car only has around 5,400 miles on it in 16 months. I will not put whistles on it but am getting ready to put them on my '06 Sentra. I have a friend who is an excellent body man who does my repairs in his shop.
