interior misting problems
Re: interior misting problems
Check the drain under the cowl in front of the windshield, if it is plugged up water can overflow into the air intake for the heating/ac ducts and from there into the car. Also check the drain for the a/c cooling unit if the moisture from that cannot escape it will get blown into the car. Moisture inside this unit can lead to mold and smells. Think legionnaires disease, yikes!

try this thread. some good info on which AC/vent settings to try.

Re: interior misting problems
Warm, moist daytime air will condense on the windows when the outside cools down at night. Think "still". If there is extra dampness in the car from leaks it will be worse. Leave it in the sun on a hot day to thoroughly dry out and follow the thread advice to check for leaks. Only other option is to leave the windows cracked at night so the temperature equalizes faster and there will be less window condensation. PS - btw, beautiful color.
Re: interior misting problems
When I lived in an apartment I found leaving the moist and warmer underground parking and getting into the cold air outside my windows would mist up dangerously fast leaving me blind to the outside of the car. Using the heater to defog the windscreen only made it worse until the car had warmed up. At times the water would be so bad as to run down the windscreen inside the car.
This can also occur when the A/C evaporator is still wet from use in the hours previous and the air is drawn over the coil and enters the cabin, it will not go away until the evaporator is drier. Also check that the evap. drain is not plugged up from slime.

Changed Fred's air filters today with MANN replacements....originals said Mercedes & Mann on them.
Re: interior misting problems
Mine was doing this, it was a leaking rear window. The leaked under the panels and was tough to see, collected under the storage compartment in the back. It's an easy fix and was covered by the dealer. The window repair man stated this was a common problem for the Crossfire, evidently the rear window gasket blows out easily if you hit it with high pressure like at car wash.
Re: interior misting problems
It used to be pretty severe, if I used just the fan in a matter of seconds I would have to pull over because I was blinded!
Hope that helps

thanks
Re: interior misting problems
I drove my car every day for years through all kinds of weather. I noticed that my windows would fog up VERY easily on certain days. My solution was to turn on the AC and it would clear right up. I thought it was unusual because my other cars through the years never reacted like the crossfire before. I alway assumed that it was because our cabins were very small and air tight.
Re: interior misting problems
yes sorry set on defrost...but key is to always have it set on air con!
You will get the hang of it and it won't be an issue ....I love the crossfire, for the money you pay for one.. it's a whole lot of fun, brilliant driving car.
cheers, Maz.
