Default Water in footwell

Hi
What started off as "Son the radio is broke, fit this new Kenwood and see what's wrong with the blowers" is proving to be a disaster. My Dad has a 2004 UK RHD Crossfire.

I replaced the head unit but still no sound.......I went to replace the blower regularor and...... The fan was full of trapped water and it gushed out when I removed the panel. No suprise the amp below is covered in rust!

Is there a common fault or common location for checking to see where all this water has come from?

Thanks
Louis

Yes. Remove the wiper arms and the plastic cowl cover. You will then see the water collection areas, one on the right and one in the center ( in US, may be reversed on RHD car ). There are rubber tubes connected to metal spigots on the bottom of the drain areas that can get clogged with debris. Gently rod them out with a wire of some kind. Do your BEST not to dislodge the rubber tubes from the spigots.

Hi
That was the exact issue, thanks so much for the advice! A huge help!

I did notice an electrical connector that wasnt connected to anything and couldnt find anywhere to connect it? Wipers and water jets work fine.

Many Thanks
Louis

That wire is either the heated water jets or the alarm module.
( Other than the wiper motor wires, that's all there is under there ).
CORRECTION ! I had a cowl off Saturday, there is a drain both right / left and center.
The center drain connects to a screen in the cowl, so I don't think it is a problem area.

Hi George,
Your advice has been such a such help. We had the alarm removed so that will explain that spare cable.

Thanks again
Louis :-)
