Re: steering / ignition locking
I have had the steering wheel off a couple of times and it is no big deal, you just have to realign it properly and use a #30 Torz bit when taking the wheel off, no any other size no matter what you read in other posts.
It has to be easier to play around there with it gone.
Re: steering / ignition locking
I have an 05 with a Sterring Wheel lock issue - unable to start - can only push it straight.
My shop determined it was a sterring weel lock issue - the parts don't seem to be available from Chrysler - can Mercedes parts be used - what would the part number be?
One person spoke about using a file to cut off the steering wheel lock from the ignition assembly - is this a good fix? - and do you have any pictures of this fix?
Thanks!
