Re: 80,000 miles 06 6 speed crossfire
Find a local shop you trust and get stuff done. That's what I do. Local shop has three brothers running it, one has a wife with an SLK 320 (our car's chassis and drive train) and he does most of my work. THis is the way to go, PLEASE, we have all read story after story here of dealerships charging WAY too much and sometimes not even using the right fluids.
Find a shop that does Mercedes and you'll be fine.
ALSO: You will get better help here if you update your profile with where you live, as someone here may know a local shop to recommend.

Thanks I'm new to this. Bit have only worked on American cars. This is my fiancé s car. Trying to save money. The maintence on it is outrageous The dealership said it needed some work. Thy wanted to charge 350$ to change diff fluid and 105$ to change the air filter. What other things can I do to save money on maitnace I see how to do alot of the things just have problems finding parts

If she is going to keep the car for say another 20k miles, then I would look at changing fluids and such. There are specific fluids for the car. But if she isn't going to do that and car is running fine, fluid levels are normal, I would just drive it. At 100K plugs, and all fluids would certainly need replaced. But, a shop that does foreign, especially German cars, is where I would go for whatever you can't do yourself. Changing air filters, and oil is pretty straight forward. I would stay away from Chrysler dealerships unless you know who you are dealing with in the service dept.

I just did my diff oil. It was 30min and $20 taking my time. Did it on the garage floor. Super easy to do. Easier than than either diff in my lifted 79 K5. Air filters are about the same price and take a few minutes...
I'll be tackling the manual trans oil next. From what I've read it's a tight fit, so going to use a friend's lift. Is yours auto or manual? Most things on this car seem to be rather easy to fix/maintain, but then I've never taken a vehicle to anyone for repairs or maintenance.

Mine is a manuel. Yeah I had it in the air it's a tight fit. Don't forget about the one time use fill plug. What size but did you use to drop the did flui and what kind of fluid did you use. I seen where the drain and fill plug are. It would just make it alot easier if you new

I think I'm reading this correctly, but you don't drop the diff. Just jack the car up so it's level, unscrew the fill plug first, then unscrew the drain plug and let that nasty fluid out. I used Amsoil 75W-90 fluid a few thousand miles ago and all is well. Not sure about the one-time use plug though, I reused mine...
Thanks. I'm talking about if you want to drop the transmission fluid
