Re: Problem with law enforcement!!!
Only met one cop I didn't like. He gave me a ticket in the late 80's for not having a chauffeur's license. Thing was, I knew the law didn't apply, I was not hired to drive, I was hired to fix radio's. Driving my service van was not my primary job. A court threw the ticket out, of course.
What totally pissed ME off was that my employer didn't pay me for the two hours I was in court!
I was mad at the officer for years, but got over it. Good thing, too. In 2000, he had become the number 3 guy in the county sheriff department. It was HIS reference and phone call, more than anything, that enabled me to get a job here in Georgia, 770 miles from home - with only a telephone interview.
You never know WHO will be your friend later on in life!
I should add that I deal with as many as a dozen officers a day in my job. I have gotten to know them on a personal level, and I, too, don't know how they maintain a good attitude about people in general. They deal with the same human debris every day. They deal with the kind of people WE would be forced to deal with were there no police out there.
Imagine the world you would live in without law enforcement. SURE, ya get irritated when you get that speeding or parking ticket. I know I do. But it's their very presence that "keeps a lid" on crime.
