And if the person who diagnosed this can't use an ammeter, you are out a pile of money and your battery STILL won't hold a charge.

Take the damn car to a local radio shop (look up "Motorola" or "Kenwood" in the "Radio systems" section of the Yellow Pages) and ask their techs to trace the current draw and tell you where the problem is. This should take under an hour - cost should be one hour of labor which is $75 to $125 in most of the country.

I have worked for Motorola shops for 30 years, every one of them has at least ONE person capable of using an ammeter.
