Battery Loss of Charge
I let the 06 Crossfire set for 2.5 months and returned to find I had a very low battery. Charged it, drove it around, parked it and when I tried to start it again the battery was completely dead and would not take a charge.
Bought a new battery and it was drained of its power and would only hold a charge temporarily. Took it to a dealer and they determined that there was a loss of power through the radio fuse and they removed the fuse.
Dealer told me I would need a new radio ($800). I got in the car, started it and found the radio worked fine. Mechanic told me he removed the fuse to the radio. No explanation of what caused the problem. How could the problem arise when the car had been sitting for 2.5 months?
Drove home and found that I am unable to lock the doors with the remote. The lites blink, but the doors will not lock. I can lock the passenger side by hand, but don't want to lock the driver side because I could not unlock the doors then.
I have filled out two evaluations for the dealer without a response.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Gerry

Was the car sitting outside or inside? Water may have entered the trunk and got down the well where the security module sits and flooded it. If this is ruined then the air pump that operates the locks will not function. Can you hear hissing or any noise when you operate the lock/unlock buttons on the fob?
Report back which fuse was removed, most dealers know squat.

Checked the fuse box in the engine compartment. I cannot see where any fuse was disconnected. There are only 5 or 6 visible. Is there another fuse location? Most of the wires in the fuse box were inserted into a small clip. I could not see any loose, or disconnected wires. Is there an interior fuse box?
Sounds like your missing about a dozen fuses.. This was drivers side against the firewall that you checked?
Also an interior fuse box .. open the door.. there is a panel on that side by the headlight switch.

This is an '06 Roadster. I have checked all of the fuse boxes. The smaller box on the inside on the driver's side had no fuses at all. In fact, the cover was just hanging down. I checked the box under the hood on the driver's side and were 9 missing fuses, but I think they all had to do with the "Limited" model (1,4,9,12,13,21,22,23,24). In fact, none pertained to the radio, or the auto door locks.
I'm not quite sure what's going on, or what the dealer did. Does the smaller interior fuse box
control the lights only? Just checked all of my lights and they work.
Does anyone know which fuse controls the auto lock system?
Thank for the help!!

The only explanation was that the radio contains the amplifier and that's what the problem is. So, in order to put the fuse back in would be to replace the radio. That's dealer logic!!
My understanding is the radio provides about 17 watts to the main amp in the floor.. if you think a new stereo is in order.. there is one that is realistically priced on ebay with 10 hours left to bid on..non nav.. dunno which you have.. but here it is..

Take the damn car to a local radio shop (look up "Motorola" or "Kenwood" in the "Radio systems" section of the Yellow Pages) and ask their techs to trace the current draw and tell you where the problem is. This should take under an hour - cost should be one hour of labor which is $75 to $125 in most of the country.
I have worked for Motorola shops for 30 years, every one of them has at least ONE person capable of using an ammeter.
My wife's 05 Crossfire rear window had fallen out and rain got into the trunk, like an inch. The fog lights parking lights all stay on. I pulled fuses to turn these off. The convertible does not work. The lock/unlock does not electronically work. The battery would not take a charge 24 hrs and barely turned the engine over. Would this security module cause this. Does anyone have any good suggestions. We have removed most of the water and are currently trying to dry it out the rest of the way. I replaced the battery, when I connected the terminals it gave indication of a load i.e. sparks so we are leaving it disconnected except when we need it. All this because Chrysler's crappy rear window falls out and Chrysler will not fix it. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks, I will try removing the plug. We were looking at trying to remove all the liner in the trunk, just didn't know were to start. Looking for a service manual to help. yeh I was thinkingthat it would be expensive. It just does not want to stop raining long enough for us to work on it any length of time. Thanks.
