The car is stuck at work. It locked up on Thursday as I was leaving work. I have blisters trying to get it started. Cold not get a rental car in time on Friday to get to work.

Between the battery and now this key switch I lost two full work days. I am sure my boss is pissed at me.

It just really kills me to think that a 2 cent pin that should have been made of hardened steel caused all this. If there was ever a reason for a part recall, I am sure this should be one.

Anyway, got part on order. I have to somehow go to work this weekend in rental car and get my car to start. I guess I can just drill down the pin and start it so I can move it home to work on it.

A 2 cent pin that failed cost me well over 1K if you look at lost time at work, rental car, replacement part, etc.

Luckily I still love my car.
What am I missing here?
If you do the fix as described you do not have to replace anything. No cost at all, of course if you want to possibly do the fix again in the future you can replace the part and wait for it to fail again.
