I don't think you are in danger of hurting your car as long as your engine temps stay normal. You might be losing a sensor or you might have a hiccup in your computer. About the only thing that could adversely affect your car is the computer may think it's actually 136 degrees outside and adjust your fuel mixture and other engine parameters accordingly. It would make your car run a little off, but shouldn't do it any harm. Let us know what the verdict is after you disconnect and reconnect the battery.
