Not to be a know-it-all, but could I also suggest an inline fuse, if they do not tap a fused source?

Also, if you do my "always hot" mod* to the cigarette lighter/glove box lamp, you'd have constant 12 volts without the key on AND without running any wires!

(Well, ok not sure how easy it would be to get to the cig lighter/glove box lamp wiring, never tried. My mod is done totally in the fuse box under the hood on the driver's side)
