I have put my top up and down many times... if you have not tried the button in 10 minutes, there is no pressure to release, and NO, I don't care what the manual says.

Within ten minutes of moving the top, the pressure is released if the cycle does not complete. If the cycle completes, the last thing that happens is that the pressure is released. If not, we'd all have fluid leaking all over.

Manual operation is a breeze with hte tool and a hex key wrench.
