When you take something apart and take notes and photos at the same time, it can make putting that something together again that much easier. Sometimes you do not need the notes and photos you took, sometimes they are invaluable and save time.
Even something as simple as rebuilding the corvette headlights (92 model .. roll over).. I noticed some people had gotten confused on which way linkages went back. I'm fairly good at details and remembering assemblies.. But took pictures as I dis assembled just to make sure I had no issues. Very little time involved for extra peace of mind.
