000 = standard item used on various car models.

Thanks for that explanation Dave . . . That also matches the Mercedes part number for the Pierburg pump that forum member SRTSWIZZ recently bought on that E-Bay auction listing.
Used Pierburg on ebay - $100
AND now I can see from checking out the photos in that E-Bay listing, the part number on that pump is
7.28337.00. That is exactly the same part number that's on the Pierburg pump I received from CarGuts. I'm feeling better about proceeding with that installation now . . .
