I sincerely appreciate all of the information that has been provided on this subject! It is amazing what is available out there in the electronics world these days. But per the above quote, I have not become "web enabled" for many reasons. I'm sure that I am missing out on a lot of very cool stuff, but (from my perspective) with that web involvement comes a lot of unintended "knowledge based stress"! That's really why I have tried to "unwire" myself since my retirement. My mindset says "give me a tool that will analyze existing vehicle codes for problem troubleshooting only". I really don't want or need all of that other information about how the car is working at every given moment and I don't want another "gauge" on my dash that draws my attention away from driving.
So is there a really simple version of this tool that just gives static readouts of stored codes in a maintenance setting, and gives the explanations of what those codes may mean? That is really what I am looking for. (Yes, I know that I am living in the "dark ages", lol)
