No.. the crutchfield adapter will have rca male plugs for the back of the new stereo..and will plug into the OEM plug that "is" attached to the stereo right now.. Jack into the back of the stereo.. swap red and yellow wire (connect new stereo red wire to adapter yellow.. and stereo yellow wire to adapter red) .. Have that adapter at the house from wife's install.. will get a pic up later tonight for you..
