About the XB35 bulbs, I spoke with Matt from retrofitsource, and he informed me that the XB35 bulbs still have the shadow on the ground for the H7 kits. I think the reversed metal holder is only for the H11 ones? Anyone else care to ask them as well?
I asked the source for them up here if the shadow had gone and the guy did not know. He sent me a picture of the bulb and the support that gives the shadow is on the same side as the normal HID bulbs I have now.

The support is opposite if the tab used for location. I think some years back someone on this forum modified the bulb so it could be rotated and the shadow went away.
