The MAF sensor is actually located in the MAF body that connects to the elbow above the throttle body, the air cleaner attaches to the MAF body.

Thank you for all the help and advice, it's really appreciated. I'm gonna take it off tomorrow and try clean it with some MAF cleaner, also booked in for the diagnostic so, fingers crossed I guess.
