I've been on this forum for 9 years, and yes I've heard "talk" that certain cars with 270+ hp that are "capable" of 13 sec. times. But those very same people that make those claims, also say that they don't have to prove it to anybody. They just have faith in their very own seat-of-the-pants dyno.
Unfortunately, in this age of everything being captured on video, 1/4 mile time slips make things a "fact" and not speculation.
The only NA Crossfire to run in the 13's (that I'm aware of from this forum) does so using NOS.
The fastest 1/4 mile verified by a time slip, I believe was 14.38 or 14.40.
If anybody has spent the money to build their Crossfire into a 270, 280, or 290 hp fire breather, as far as I know they have yet to take it to the drags and verify it. Certainly, if they can afford to spend the money to build it, they should have enough to test it.
Personally, I don't think it's going to happen with the stock 3.27 gear that we have. Maybe with something like a 3.55 or 3.73 we may see it happen.IMO
More than likely, it will be a 6 spd. since they are nearly a 1/2 sec, quicker in the 1/4 mile in stock condition.
To clarify, I've yet to seem time slips confirming anything either. Just claims, and I'm merely stating if that isn't going to be enough, don't even look at the NA. A lot cheaper to get an SRT6 from the start than an NA, a $1000+ in mods, not be happy, sell it, and buy an SRT6 anyway.
