my last car was 33 years old, I expected to wrench on it. this one is only 8, shouldnt be having so many issues
So the coolant reservoir decided to spring a leak on me. the nipple for the overflow (return?) line cracked, I pulled the hose off and saw that there was a inch or so long metal pipe protruding from the plastic about 1/4", I pushed it back in and wrapped some packing tape tightly around it, kinda like a sticky cellophane, put the hose back on as far as it would allow and tightened the pipe clamp around the cracked (hopefully sealed) part. Seems to be holding for now. I would still like to replace it tho, don't need it failing on me later on.
Would appear this is a common problem. Doh!
